Raipur 08 January 2022 Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday attended a function in which office bearers of Risali Municipal Corporation took charge of their office. He stressed on the need to establish a large livelihood center here to boost livelihood opportunities and work in the direction of necessary building infrastructure and beautification of the area. He has asked the Municipal Corporation to formulate a plan in this regard assuring of possible from the state government. Stating that the rapid development of the municipality would be a huge challenge for the newly elected mayor, chairman and councilors, Chief Minister said that "most of these councilors have been elected for the first time and are filled with great enthusiasm. Few experienced councilors have also been elected and I hope Risali will achieve new heights of development and the corporation will get the most of their experience." Chief Minister said on the occasion that works done by the government for the farmers in rural areas has immensely benefited the urban economy. This is the reason behind rapid development in the cities. "Our government is making all possible efforts to ensure availability of basic facilities including education, health, and drinking water in urban areas. Efforts are being made to provide better health facilities to citizens through Mobile Medical Unit, 'Dai-Didi' Clinics and Chief Minister's Urban Slum Health Scheme. A solid foundation is being laid in the field of education through Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium School", he said. The Chief Minister said that this time 66 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured, Rs 12 thousand crores have been paid to the farmers and out of this Rs 10,000 crores has also reached the market. Work is being done rapidly to provide new employment opportunities. The government is eyeing development of basic infrastructure in urban areas. Special works are being done to ensure water supply in low pressure areas. Congratulating the newly elected mayor, the Chief Minister asked her to work hard with utmost dedication towards the development of Risali. Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu said on the occasion that the Chief Minister has always extended helping hands for the development of newly formed Risali Municipal Corporation. On this occasion, Forest Minister and Minister in-charge of Durg district Mr. Mohammad Akbar said that the kind of results seen in the urban bodies shows that the urban schemes which have been started under the guidance of the Chief Minister have made a meaningful impact on the ground level and is equally proving useful for the welfare of the people. On this occasion, Mayor Smt. Shashi Sinha said in her address that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel formed the Risali Corporation; while the Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu carried forward the development here under his guidance. Now, it is the responsibility of all of us to work together and give new heights to the development of Risali. MLA Mr. Devendra Yadav, Zila Panchayat President Mrs. Shalini Devendra Yadav, Chairman of District Mandi Board Mr. Ashwini Sahu, President of District Co-operative Bank Durg Mr. Jawahar Verma, Durg Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, SSP Mr. Badri Narayan Meena and senior officials were present on the occasion. The newly elected office bearers took charge of their office in the presence of the Chief Minister.
