More than half of the total target teens have been inoculated in Mungeli, Rajnandgaon, Dhamtari and Mahasamund districts in first four days
Balod, Bemetara, Kanker, Gariaband and Kondagaon districts close to reach 50 per cent mark
More than 6.18 lakh teens vaccinated in the first four days
Raipur, 07 January 2022/ The Covid-19 vaccination drive for children between 15 to 18 age group is going on at a rapid pace in Chhattisgarh with more than 6.18 lakh youngsters receiving their first shots in the first four days of commencement of the drive.
Over 38 per cent of the total target adolescents in this age group have been vaccinated in the state so far. Mungeli, Rajnandgaon, Dhamtari and Mahasamund districts have managed to complete more than half of the target vaccination in the first four days only. Similarly, Balod, Bemetara, Kanker, Gariaband and Kondagaon districts are also close to reach the 50 per cent mark.
A total of 16 lakh 39 thousand 811 adolescents in this age group are eligible for vaccination, out of which, 6 lakh 18 thousand 089 adolescents have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccination so far (till January 6).
Teenagers are enthusiastically queuing up at the vaccination sites set up in all the districts to get jabbed. Adolescents born in the years 2005, 2006 and 2007 are being vaccinated at these centers.
Mungeli district has managed to reach 67 per cent of the total target as of January 6 while Rajnandgaon has managed to complete 57 per cent of the total target. Similarly, 56 per cent of the total target has been completed in Dhamtari, 51 per cent in Mahasamund, 48 per cent each in Balod and Bemetara districts, 47 per cent in Kanker, 46 per cent in Gariaband, 45 per cent in Kondagaon and 40 per cent in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district.
Over 32 thousand 737 adolescents have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Mungeli district so far, 54 thousand 980 in Rajnandgaon, 27 thousand 180 in Dhamtari, 32 thousand 993 in Mahasamund, 23 thousand 625 in Balod, 26 thousand 672 in Bemetara, 21 thousand 471 in Kanker, 17 thousand 162 in Gariaband, 16 thousand 327 in Kondagaon, 37 thousand 526 in Balodabazar-Bhatapara, 41 thousand 064 in Durg, 40 thousand 200 in Bilaspur, 6242 in Dantewada and 29 thousand 686 in Raigarh.
Besides, 46 thousand 272 teenagers in Raipur district, 32 thousand 836 in Janjgir-Champa, 16 thousand 099 in Jashpur, 15 thousand 041 in Surajpur, 17 thousand 054 in Kabirdham, 11 thousand 737 in Korea, 13 thousand 563 in Balrampur-Ramanujganj, 14 thousand 988 in Surguja, 5838 in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, 13 thousand in Bastar, 18 thousand 074 in Korba, 2603 in Bijapur, 2233 in Sukma and 886 in Narayanpur district have received their first shot of Covid vaccine in the first four days of commencement of inoculation drive for teenagers.
